Our Beautiful, Permanent Sign
Have you seen the new permanent sign that has been installed at the Woman’s Club of Rutherford on the corner of Fairview Avenue and Montross Avenue?
The sign was made possible in part by a generous donation from the Borroto Family, in loving memory of their mother, Ida Borroto. Ida was a cherished member and past president of the Woman’s Club whose dedication, warmth, and leadership touched so many lives.
The planning process began nearly a year ago, when Leslie Beck, Club First Vice President, and Debra Mania, Club Trustee, eagerly started working on the design, colors, and lettering in collaboration with Majestic Sign Company.
What began as an amateur sketch quickly became the foundation for something special. Once they started, they were fully committed. During their travels, they paid close attention to signage everywhere they went, gathering inspiration from top to bottom. They felt strongly that the sign’s aesthetic should reflect the spirit of the organization — feminine, elegant, classic, and welcoming. The final design features a soft off-white background with gold leaf lettering and trim, creating a timeless and refined look.
We are incredibly proud of the result and hope the community enjoys it as much as we do. This spring, flowers will be planted and the sign will be professionally illuminated to enhance its presence even further.
And we are thankful to the Borroto family. Through their kindness and generosity, Ida’s legacy continues to inspire and uplift our community.
